Bound for Alaska


The picture above is a wooden representation of a female Belted Kingfisher, which had been on standby for a better part of 2010 and 2011, waiting for me to make up my mind. I never seen one up close  (bird on hand), so the rendering is personal and not apologetic. This bird is housed in Petersburg, Alaska, a gift to Jane and Scott for their role as surrogate caregivers and teachers to young impressive minds.
