Somehow Google Maps has reached an art interested audience, mind you, after 7 years. So, I had come to the conclusion that there was no interest whatsoever in what I had to offer to the art supporting public. I had abandoned the effort and didn’t think of updating Google Maps for my Art Studio…then, all of a sudden people began to show up at my cabin’s door looking for BirdofWood Art Studio…4 people to be frank, but that’s many to me and I felt and feel bad about it. So, please be aware that I have taken a break from making bird wood carvings and have moved on to other woodworking projects. I could consider doing certain bird carvings, if they aren’t expected to be intricate in details, as the time they take makes them unaffordable to most people. Please, consider reaching out to me at birdofwoodart@gmail.com

Leaping Hare wall decor
Another off the “bird” subject critter that has sparked my interest is the Hare…a sturdy high forestland that inhabits my backyard. Still in the making and already having been claimed by a visitor to my shop. All of these flats…one dimensional wood crafts are waste residue from my milling of logs for timber framing explorations in design. So, why not create something unique? Right?
Researching this subject was necessary as I wasn’t knowledgeable about the skeletal structure and had to use ChatGPT to find scientific skeletal sketches to assist me with the drawing process of a hare in leaping motion.
Long-Nose Lancetfish Fun Project
I have been on a deviated course away from bird subject art projects due in part because I found myself not being attuned to the task and also given the facts that the economic realities of the times discourage sensible folks from spending their funds on non essential items. The “fish” I am sporadically producing are a byproduct of a new more challenging venue of entertainment that I have adopted…at least for the time being…timber frame structures, studies in design and construction by one person. What is to be discarded as wood waste gets a new life in a water critter wall plank using old formed metal sheet as fins. They aren’t intended for marketing purposes, but anyone is welcome to one on a “Offers Accepted” basis.
The Lancet-fish above is nearly 4’ long and the fins are crafted from old sheet metal formed by hand. They are rarely seen fish or strange creatures that attract my attention or are challenging to recreate.
